We like the French Press because it is an easy and consistent way to brew an excellent cup of coffee. Our Sumatra & Sulawesi varieties make for a great cup when brewed using a French Press. Just be sure to clean the plunger throughly as with regular use old grinds get get stuck in the mesh!
Grind your coffee to a medium-coarse grind. Add filtered water to a gooseneck kettle and bring to a boil.
Preheat your french press with hot water allowing the water to sit for 1-2 minutes. Return the kettle to base, and bring the water to a boil once again. Discard the water in the French Press and add your ground coffee. Once the water comes to a boil, turn the kettle off and let it sit for 30 seconds before pouring hot water to the halfway mark.
After about 1 minute, stir the "bloom" and add the water to fill the french press.
After about 4 minutes, plunge your coffee, and serve immediately!
Note: once plunged the coffee will continue to extract so be sure to pour it all into serving cups.
